He was featured in Street & Smith’s Basketball magazine for his shooting efficiency. He led his conference in 3 point shooting percentage (49.7%) and was ranked 11th nationally in this category. Darryl was named team captain and earned all conference honors his junior and senior year for his leadership both on and off the court.

By his senior year, Darryl averaged 17 points per game, and was nearly perfect at the foul line, shooting 89%. His knowledge and training improved under the direction of Chris Casey, currently head assistant coach at St. John’s University of New York.
